Dave aims to integrate balance, passion, and gratitude for life into his work. He draws inspiration from nature and the way we communicate in a chaotic world. The process of creating art allows him to quiet his thoughts and concentrate on what matters most in life. "When creating art, I let go and allow the universe to flow through me, approaching it with a childlike perspective."

Dave views life as an epic journey meant to be explored, a sentiment reflected in his art. His approach takes a deep dive inward in his attempt to overcome his ego self and reveal his true purpose through his creative process. Hoping that his works create an emotional connection with those around him and thus moving the human condition forward in a positive way. 

His creativity and determination resulted in a successful design and sign company. A challenge later required Dave to reconsider his life direction. After surviving a cancer scare, Dave sold his business to pursue his life-long passion for art. While developing a distinctive method for creating art, Dave avoids traditional techniques. He experiments with different ways to apply paint to canvas, often crafting his own tools to spread paint in unusual ways. This enables him to create works that are visually unique. 

Dave grew up in St. Louis, MO. Through his travels across the US, Europe, and Southwest Asia, he ultimately opted for a quieter, more community driven lifestyle. He has spent the last 25 years in Charleston, SC, where he acquired a keen interest in nature and all of his surroundings. He currently calls Sullivan’s Island home, where inspiration abounds.
